WHEN TO CHANGE MODES ON MY SPORTDOG® BRAND SPORTTRAINER® SD-875 AND MODES EXPLAINED

THINGS TO KNOW

Simply put, modes change the type of correction each button delivers. Your system comes factory set to mode 1. Though it is not necessary to change modes, they do allow you to program different types of corrections to your buttons.

The chart below is a quick look at the options available for your system.

MODE 1

MODE 1MODE 1

Mode 1 enables you to deliver a continuous correction, a momentary correction, or a tone.

The Continuous Correction will deliver a static correction for as long as you hold the button down, up to 10 seconds. After 10 seconds you will need to release the button, wait 5 seconds, and press the correction button again before it will deliver the static correction again.

The Momentary Correction will only deliver a single quick pulse of correction no matter how long you hold the button.

The collar will only emit a Tone when the button is pressed. This is a high-pitched tone that is intended for dogs to hear. A great deal of humans have some difficulty hearing the tone. This is normal. There is no way to adjust the volume of the tone.

MODE 2

Mode 2 allows you to program Vibration instead of Tone. This is especially helpful when training a deaf dog. You also still have the ability to deliver a Continuous Static Correction and a Momentary Static Correction.

MODES 3 AND 4

Modes 3 and 4 allow you to use both Tone and Vibration. The only difference being is that you would need to decide whether you want Continuous Static Correction or Momentary Static Correction.

MODES 5 AND 6

Modes 5 and 6 allow you to control our UplandHunter™ Beeper Locators while also allowing for Continuous Static Correction and either Tone or Vibration.

MODES 7 AND 8

Modes 7 and 8 allow you to program a Continuous Static Correction, Tone or Vibration, and a Boost +2 button. This can be programed as an emergency button. The Boost +2 button will deliver a static correction two levels higher than the intensity selection on the screen, not to exceed the highest level of 10 that is available on the system.
