MY DOG DOESN'T RESPOND TO THE SPORTDOG® FIELDTRAINER 425X OR SPORTHUNTER 825XCOLLAR
Before troubleshooting, remove the collar from your dog.
Ensure that both the remote transmitter and collar receiver are fully charged, and the collar is powered on.
- If fully charged and powered on, the collar receiver should blink green every 5 seconds, and the remote transmitter’s Indicator Light will illuminate green when a button is pressed.

Ensure that both contact points on your collar receiver are hand-tight.
Verify that your remote transmitter and collar receiver are paired.
- Turn your dial to V/T.
- Press and hold one of the buttons on the front of your remote. Your collar will vibrate or tone depending on the mode set.
- If you do not feel a vibration or tone, please pair your remote and collar. For more information on pairing, visit HOW TO PAIR YOUR SPORTDOG® REMOTE TRANSMITTER WITH A SINGLE COLLAR, or if you have more than one dog visit HOW TO ADD ANOTHER SPORTDOG® COLLAR RECEIVER TO YOUR REMOTE TRANSMITTER.
Ensure the collar is delivering a static stimulation.
- Turn your Intensity Dial to 7.
- Place the test light tool’s two wires on the collar’s contact points.
- Then, press and hold the upper button on the front of the remote. An amber-colored light will glow in the center of the Test Light Tool.
- If your collar is paired but you do not see a light on your test light tool, contact Customer Care.

If you have completed the previous troubleshooting and your dog is still not responding to the correction, you may need to increase the stimulation range on the collar. You can find those instructions here on HOW TO CHANGE THE STIMULATION RANGE ON YOUR SPORTDOG® COLLAR.
