MY DOG DOESN’T RESPOND TO THE SPORTDOG® YARDTRAINER 350
Before any troubleshooting, remove the collar from your dog.
Ensure that both the handheld remote and the collar are fully charged, and the collar is powered on.
- If fully charged and powered on, the collar should blink green every 5 seconds, and the handheld remote’s indicator light will illuminate green when a button is pressed.
For more information, go to our article on HOW TO CHARGE YOUR YARDTRAINER 350.
Verify that your handheld remote and collar are paired by pressing and holding the side button on your remote. Your collar will quickly beep.
If you do not hear a tone, please pair your remote and collar.
- Start with the collar powered off.
- Press and hold the collar power button. The light will turn solid green. Continue to hold until the light shuts off, then release.
- Press and hold the upper button on your remote until the collar flashes 5 times to indicate the pairing was successful.
For more information on pairing, go to our article on HOW TO PAIR YOUR YARDTRAINER 350 REMOTE AND COLLAR.
Test if the collar is delivering a static stimulation.
- Ensure that both contact points on your collar are hand-tight.
- Turn your Intensity Dial to 8.
- Place the test light tool’s two wires on the collar’s contact points.
- Then, press and hold the upper button on the front of the remote. An amber-colored light will glow in the center of the Test Light Tool.
If the collar is functioning properly and delivering the static stimulation, make sure the collar is fit correctly on your dog.
- High on the neck with the device on the front of the throat.
- Snug enough that you can only fit 1-2 fingers under the strap.
- Ensure both contact points are touching the skin.
Note: If your dog has long or thick fur, you may need to trim area.
