MY DOG DOESN’T RESPOND TO THE SPORTDOG® SPORTHUNTER® 1225X

Remove the collar from your dog before troubleshooting.

Ensure that both the remote transmitter and collar receiver are fully charged, and the collar is powered on.

  • If fully charged and powered on, the collar receiver should blink green every 5 seconds, and the remote transmitter’s indicator light will illuminate green when a button is pressed.
  • For more information on charging, visit HOW TO CHARGE MY SPORTDOG® SPORTHUNTER® 1225X.

Ensure that both contact points on your collar receiver are hand-tight.

Verify that your remote transmitter and collar receiver are paired.

  • To confirm this, turn your dial to any number and then press the button you use to correct your dog. The collar receiver’s indicator light will light up a solid red while the button is being pressed if paired.
  • If the collar doesn’t light up, please pair your remote transmitter and collar receiver. You can learn how to do that by referring to HOW TO PAIR ONE COLLAR TO MY SPORTDOG® SPORTHUNTER® 1225X.

Ensure that the collar is delivering the stimulation.

  • Turn your Intensity Dial to 7.
  • Place the test light tool’s two wires on the collar’s contact points.
  • Press and hold the upper button on the front of the remote. An amber-colored light will glow in the center of the test light tool.

Ensure that the collar is fitted properly on your dog. Visit HOW TO FIT THE SPORTDOG® COLLAR TO MY DOG for assistance with proper fitting.

If you have completed the previous troubleshooting and your dog is still not responding to the correction, you may need to increase the stimulation range on the collar. Visit HOW TO INCREASE STIMULATION RANGE ON MY SPORTDOG® SPORTHUNTER® 1225X COLLAR for further assistance.
