HOW TO REPLACE THE BATTERY IN MY SPORTDOG® BRAND SPORTTRAINER® SD-875 HANDHELD REMOTE

Remove the screws from the back of the remote with a T8 star bit driver. Then remove the back cover. If you purchased a battery replacement kit from our website, a T8 star bit driver is provided in the kit.

Pinch the wires firmly between two fingers at the base of the wire connector.

Carefully pull the battery’s wire plug out of the connector in the remote transmitter.

If it doesn’t initially come out, pull harder.

Take the new battery’s wire plug and insert it into the connecter in the remote transmitter. Then place the battery inside the back of the remote transmitter.

Remove the rubber gasket from the battery cover. You can do this with a paperclip or something similar.

Wipe out any dirt or debris that has built up.

Replace the gasket with the new gasket provided in your battery replacement kit.

This step is important for the remote to remain waterproof.

Put the front and back of the remote back together, and hand-tighten all 8 screws.

Be careful not to fasten the screws too tight as this can damage the remote.
